Sustainability in Higher Education: Addressing Policy, Place and People
According to “The Princeton Review 2016 College Hopes & Worries Survey Report”4, 61% of parents and college-bound students say that information about colleges’ commitments to environmental issues contributes in some way to their decision to apply to or attend a university. Even greater gains can be realized if the sustainability strategy includes a student engagement component. This paper outlines three pillars* that should be considered when developing a holistic sustainability strategy and introduces a tool to help develop student engagement initiatives.
